THE HYPROCRITICAL NOMINEE

ACTUALLY......According to the dictionary, a hypocrite is someone who pretends to have admirable principles, beliefs or feelings, but behaves otherwise.  The person who immediately comes to mind is Mitt Romney.  He will say anything to get elected!  I've written before that I believe he changes his policy positions to whatever he thinks will benefit him the most and, of course, to whatever crowd he is speaking to.

As Mr. Dionne of the Washington Post has written, "Mitt Romney treats himself as a product, not a person, and that Republicans cannot defend their proposals in terms that are acceptable to the majority of the voters".  He has lied so many times and vacillated so frequently, I'm not sure even he knows what he has previously said.  Romney has said he was going to "reinvent himself", into a confident candidate.  I don't think that was a lie, I just don't think he knows how.  When interviewed by Fox news about his 47% debacle, his response was, "Well, clearly in a campaign, with hundreds if not thousands of speeches and question-and-answer sessions, now and then you’re going to say something that doesn’t come out right, and in this case I said something that’s just completely wrong."    No apology.  Guess he doesn't know that you can't un-ring a bell.  It seems that a new Romney appears on a monthly, weekly and sometimes daily basis.

Last year he moved far to the right on immigration, only because Rick Perry was a moderate on that issue. Now, he's back-tracking and trying to court the Latino vote.

On his tax policy the right wasn't happy, no problem, he just came out with his new tax plan that included a 20% cut in income tax rates.  In the primaries he insisted that he wanted the tax cut to go to everyone including the top 1%.  But that's not working too well now since he wrote off 47% of Americans.  In his first debate he said he didn't want to cut rich peoples taxes, saying "I'm not going to reduce the share of taxes paid by high-income people".   The one thing that Romney and Ryan won't comprise is that they believe every problem in the economy can be solved by throwing more money at the wealthy through tax cuts.

Hold on to your hat, he's made another swing - this time it's on abortion.  It's easy to find online where he passionately claimed that he is absolutely committed to a woman's right to choose, and that he is definitely opposed to abortion. Yes, he swayed again when he told the Des Moines Register that "there's no legislation that I'm familiar with that would become a part of my agenda". I have to refer to Mr. Dionne again - when he says "there is an underlying reason for Romney's shifting. It's the same reason Paul Ryan always resorts to budget speak and mathematical gobbedlygook to evade explaining the impact of his budgets on actual human beings".  Romney has to keep changing the packaging because he knows that the policies inside the box are not what the voters are looking for".

AND SO IT GOES.....WHO KNOWS WHATS NEXT

IF TRUTH BE TOLD.......

ACTUALLY......Mitt Romney's carousel horse has stopped on a new location this morning, 10/11/2012. He's kinda' backing up on his statement to the Des Moines Register on Tuesday.  Now he says "he remains opposed to abortion and would take action if elected president to reduce the number that are performed in this country and around the world".   Around the world?  Does his Mormon faith give him some Godly powers we're not aware of?  The Los Angeles Times reported  Romney said "the actions I'll take immediately are to remove funding for Planned Parenthood.  It will not be part of my budget".  He also said I'll reverse, by executive order, the Mexico City position of the president.  I will reinstate the Mexico City policy", which does not allow American tax dollars to fund abortions overseas.

News Flash here!   I've just read that a  "provision known as the Helms Amendment already bans foreign aid from being spent on abortion care.  The Mexico City policy would deny funds for voluntary family planning services to any organization that uses non-U.S. money to provide, refer for, or advocate abortion."   I know you're busy Mitt, but you need to do your homework!

Romney states he is for some exceptions to a ban on all abortions, but the policies he supports preclude any such exceptions.  He once said that he would be "delighted" to sign a ban banning all abortions.  The Planned Parenthood President said today "There's no way for Romney to hide from the positions he's taken repeatedly over the years".

Mitt Romney is so wishy-washy, he can't even stand up for what he says from day to day.  How in the hell does he think there is any way that he could perform Presidential duties?  Besides being dishonest, he is deceitful, unfair, and manipulative.

THIS IS A MAN WHO IS A MIXTURE OF INSINCERITY AND UNTRUTHS

THE SHIFTER-IN-CHIEF

ACTUALLY........Mitt Romney just keeps my mind spinning.  First he's totally against an issue, then he's absolutely for it.  Of course, the reason is because he will do, or say, anything that sounds like it may get him elected  president.  I can't help wondering if he realizes that the President of the United Sates does not have the liberty to have such "etch-a-sketch" moments.

To me the latest bewildering move is his direction on Abortion. During the primaries he called himself "an avid pro-life governor" and said Americans could "count on me, as president, to pursue a policy that protects the life of the unborn."

In 2007, during a primary debate, he said "I'm proud to be pro-life, and I'm not going to apologize to people for becoming pro-life".

In August 2012, the Republican Party's official platform underscored the fact that they believed they needed a constitutional ban on abortion in all circumstances.  No Abortion. No exceptions.  I assume Governor Romney was a part of that "official platform".

Now, we have another change in direction as well as another strong statement from Mitt Romney.  According to Reuters, Mitt Romney said if elected he would not pursue "specific legislation targeting abortion". This morning he told the Des Moines Register's editorial board, during a campaign visit in Iowa, "There's no legislation that I'm familiar with that would become a part of my agenda".  That comment could be reassuring to some women voters who have not decided who to cast their vote for. This has dishonesty written all over it.  As well as another "flip-flop", I think I distinctly heard another big 'swoosh' to the political center.

THE WOMEN OF AMERICA SIMPLY CAN'T TRUST HIM
HE'LL SAY ANYTHING TO WIN

GOP HOSTILITY AGAINST WOMEN

ACTUALLY...... Mitt Romney has made it clear by selecting Paul Ryan to be his running mate that he agrees with the GOP's extreme measures on the issues most important to women and their families.  These are only a few of the issues their ticket talks about.

1.  In 2002, Mitt Romney said he thought it was a terrific idea and would be"delighted" to sign a national ban on abortion.

2.  Romney and Ryan support radical "personhood" views that would ban abortion in all circumstances, and also outlaw common forms of birth control (the pill) and in-vitro fertilization.

3.  They both would overturn Roe vs Wade.  The vote is coming soon to include anti-choice measures in the official GOP platform.

4.  Ryan has voted to not fund Planned Parenthood and end the Title X family planning program.

5.  Mitt Romney has pledged to "get rid of" federal funding for Planned Parenthood

6.  Both men are against requiring insurers to offer no-cost birth control coverage, and they would allow a woman's boss to deny insurance coverage for anything, for any reason at all

7.  They would both repeal the Affordable Care Act and all it's benefits for women

8.  Ryan voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act.

I really don't know how radical Romney and Ryan can get.  They are obviously against everything that's important to a woman's health.  Surprising, isn't it?  They both have wives and Ryan has a daughter and Romney has several grand daughters.

What kind of self centered men are these, who would deny coverage to women that possibly could save their lives.

PAUL RYAN - I AM WOMAN - HEAR ME ROAR

ACTUALLY..... This topic could really get me ranting overtime - did you know that Paul Ryan has voted 50 times against a woman's right to choose?  He is 'anti-choice' for anything that would protect women and their health.  He supported the republican's "Protect Life Act", which is nothing more than "Let Women Die".   This act would allow hospitals to refuse to provide a woman emergency abortion care, even if it was a matter of life or death, and he has no sympathy toward women who have been raped or in cases of incest.  It's interesting that I have just read that a "Romney-Ryan administration would not oppose abortion in instances of rape."(That's a bit of a 'flipper' for Mitt Romney, who has said he opposed abortion).

Ryan cosponsored a measure that would force a woman to undergo an ultrasound before she can receive abortion care, even if her doctor doesn't recommend it and even if it is against the woman's will.  He has voted countless times against Planned Parenthood.  Planned Parenthood itself isn't just about abortion.  It covers all types of cancer screening and prevention, STD testing, and councils women on contraception.   About 80% of the plans users are over age 20, and 75% have incomes below 150% of the poverty line.  It's interesting to know that federal law already forbids Planned Parenthood from using the funds it receives from the government for abortions.  Without Planned Parenthood, taxpayers will end up bearing the expense for preventable cancers and sexually transmitted diseases.

Ryan wants to criminalize some forms of birth control.  He cosponsored a bill that could ban in-vitro fertilization, with criminal charges should something happen to the resulting embryos - or as Ryan would say, the resulting people. For Ryan, if you can't have kids, don't bother trying at all.

If  Romney is trying to get the women to vote for him in November, it's surprising he picked a running mate who wants to pass a "personhood" measure. This "personhood" bill could even outlaw several of the most common forms of birth control, even the pill, and restrict fertility treatments as well as put an end to stem cell research. Ryan is known for his sponsorship of federal legislation to declare that human life begins at fertilization.  "Personhood" has failed on every state ballot.

Currently, 21 million low income women count on Medicaid for basic health care.   Ryan would use his budget to reduce access to women's health care.  He would bar Planned Parenthood from participating in federal programs like Medicaid, denying access to preventative care for millions of women.

Rayn's budget also calls for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, which requires insurance coverage for preventative services like mammograms, cancer screenings and birth control, with no copay.  The act also bans insurance companies from discriminating  between men and women and bans the practice of denying coverage for pre-existing conditions, including pregnancy.  Mitt Romney has said he is in accordance with all of these conditions.  He acquired a long track record with Ryan in Washington on these issues.  However, the margin of victory by Democrats with women voters has the potential to sink the GOP Presidential ticket and the Senate and House races as well.

"I AM STRONG,  I AM INVINCIBLE,  I AM WOMAN"...... AND I WON'T SIT STILL WHILE PAUL RYAN WAGES WAR ON WOMEN.
