LIES AND UNTRUTHS

ACTUALLY........The media wants us to believe that Governor Romneys performance at the debate, on October 4, was a stunning performance, praising his preparedness. Well coached possibly, but to me he appeared to have a somewhat frazzled look about him, almost constantly blinking his red rimed eyes, as if to ask "am I doing this right".  Yes, he succeeded to pull off what he started to do, but he only accomplished this goal by repeatedly misleading viewers. Can you believe - 27 lies in 38 minutes?  According to the number crunchers, that's about .71 lies per minute.  And yes!  This is fact-checked.  Now that's an accomplishment, albeit not one to be proud of!! I'm not trying to write a book here, so I'll try to briefly pass these untruths on to you for your own examination.  I can't rebut all these lies here on my post, but if your interested you can find them on the internet.  Just go to "27 lies in 38minutes". These are only a few of the major lies from the 27, now you can look up the facts and decide for yourself.  Remember, honesty is the best policy.......so in the words of Governor Mitt Romney:
  • 1)  "Mr. President all of the increase in natural gas and oil has happened on private land, not on government land."
  • 2)  "I don't have a $5 trillion tax cut.  I don't have a tax cut of a scale you're talking about.
  • 3)  "My view is that we ought to provide tax relief to people in the middle-class.  But I'm not going to reduce the share of taxes paid by high income people.
  • 4)  "My number one principal is, there will be no tax cut that adds to the deficit.  I want to underline will not under any circumstances raise taxes on the middle-income families.  I will lower taxes on middle-income families.
  • 6)  "I saw a study today that you were going to raise taxes by $3,000 to $4,000 on middle class families."
  • 7)  "I'd like to bring money back from overseas".  (Please check this one in depth)
  • 8)  "I will repeal Obamacare", get rid of "Big Bird" and cut PBS broadcasting."
  • 9)  "I will take the Medicaid dollars that go to the states and say to a state, you're going to get what you did last year, plus 1% inflation, then you take care of the poor the way you think best."
  • 10) Concerning Medicare - "preexisting conditions are covered under my plan."

WHIPLASH...........

ACTUALLY....... Mitt Romney proceeded to offensively attack the dignity, offend and insult 47% of the American people, which includes not just the poor but also working-class families, members of the military and the elderly. He said  "it wasn't his job to worry about those people".  Well, that disgusting statement didn't do much for him, so.... last Sunday night he told Scott Pelley, on 60 Minutes, that he cares about 100% of the people.  He said he was in this race for the poor and the middle class. That was not just a flip-flop, it was a backwards double-sumersault whiplash!!

The only 100% that Governor Romney cares about are himself and his wealthy cronies.  For instance:
  •  Romney wants to cut service personnel, their pay, their health care and their pensions
  •  Romney wants to privatize the United States Post Office
  •  He wants to cut back on fire fighters and police officers
  •  The EPA - a little cut back there.  Do you think Romney cares if we have clean air, or clean water
  •  He plans to privatize Social Security-you can put a little money aside each month for your retirement
  •  Romney would "get rid of" Medicare.  He'd issue vouchers and you can buy your own health care
  •  He would end FEMA.  Cantor says fine, but only after he's sure it provides aid to his territory first.
  •  Romney will privatize schools.  If he closes public schools and have children go to private schools with vouchers, this would eliminate union teachers.  The private schools could choose whatever they want for tuition or deny students whom they consider unfit to go to their schools.  The private schools do not have to accept the public school children.
  •  Romney would do away with the hiring of teachers with 'highly qualified certification' requirements and block grants for money for states that adapt policies focused on improving teacher effectiveness.
  •  Romney says that classroom size doesn't matter to students, and doesn't impact educational outcomes.  After all his elite schools had classrooms of 14 students, Romney's children had just 11
  • He supports low interest rates on student loans on a temporary basis.  His best advice for students trying to figure out how to afford college "shop around, borrow money from your parents".
  • Planned Parenthood, he'll git rid of that, never mind the 3 million patients that depended on that last year
  • Taxes - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer
  • Obamacare - he'd repeal most of that on his first day in office

MITT'S "BLOCKERS"

ACTUALLY....... It was make public, a few day ago, that our well known presumptive Republican candidate for President, Governor Mitt Romney, has made use of some secret techniques of its Cayman Islands based funds to avoid taxes.  This is according to Bain Capital's private audit and financial records that were made public on Gawker website.  The statements made use of "blocker" entities, which are useful to help retirement and nonprofit entities avoid taxes.  Financial statements for another fund states that it "intends to conduct its operations so it will....not be subject to United States Federal income or withholding tax. These details are on the statements of two funds in which Romney still holds in a large investment, "according to the financial disclosure statements he filed when he announced his bid for president".

I truly believe that the Bain documents on the Gawker website could ignite a debate about Romnney's role at the company, and "specifically about Bain's decision to domicile many of its funds in offshore locations known as tax havens". Critics say that Romney's investments in these funds are an example of how wealthy Americans can hide their investments to limit the amount they pay in taxes.

Romney's tax returns have been at center stage in his campaign.  A press conference that was to focus on his medicare plan quickly turned to Romney's tax returns, and whether he has ever paid less than 13.9%.  He continues to ignore this issue and has called the questions "small-minded".

He continues to say that he will not release more than two years of returns.  These newly released documents have once again brought up the more technical questions about Romneys investments  -  the use of so-called "blocker" entities.  "The 'blocker' is a paper that serves as a buffer between the investor and the fund holding the investments.  That means the investment income can be counted as a dividend and in some cases avoid income tax".

It's interesting that in the financials for the Bain Capital Asia Fund, the audit describes the use of "blocker corporations" to hold more than $92 million in contributions from the fund.  "There have been financial experts that have pointed to the 'blockers' to explain how Rommey has been able to amass between $20.7 million and $101.6 million in a tax free IRA, many times more than the typical amount an IRA can hold.   Romney has not responded to questions about his IRA.

THE ONE THING HE CAN'T "BLOCK" IS PRESIDENT OBAMA'S RE-ELECTION

"SOMETHING DRAMATIC"

ACTUALLY......Mitt Romney is doing it again.  He's making statements regarding what he would do to ignite the economy if he is elected President, but not telling anyone how he plans to do so.  In an interview with CNN he said: "I can absolutely make the case that now is the time for something dramatic and it is not the time to grow government. It’s the time to create the incentives and the opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses big and small to hire more people and that’s going to happen.’’ Problem here, as usual, Governor Romney is skating around the issue and is not releasing specifics for his economic plans.  Could it be that he has no plan??

Romney continues to downplay President Obama's tax plan that would preserve tax cuts for all
Americans except those who earn more that $250,000.  Romney wants to preserve tax cuts for everyone - one small thing though, he hasn't said how he would pay for this. Romney says ‘‘The great majority of small businesses pay taxes at the individual rate so as Obama raises these taxes ‘‘on the wealthy’’ he is raising taxes on small business.’’  Are there many small business that make more than $250,000??

Romney criticizes Obama for not visiting Israel since 2008, during his last campaign.  At that time Obama received a warm reception from the Israeli president who said his fondest wish was for a “great president of the United States.”

When Romney was in Israel recently he caused accusations of racism from the Palestinians when he said "that cultural differences help explain the economic disparity between Israelis and Palestinians".

Was that "dramatic" enough for you Mitt?

ROMNEY DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE MIDDLE CLASS

ACTUALLY.....Have you heard that Mitt Romney has a "plan for a stronger middle class"?  HaHaHa, that's a good one!  Mitt Romney doesn't even have a plan.  Instead he has things that he dreams of happening.  Things like lower taxes for the wealthy, smaller government, weaker rights for the workers.  What he really wants is to find a way to get more income to the 1%.  He is so far out of touch with the real world, he has no clue about a solution for the middle class.

If Romney is elected President a great percentage of  Americans' standard of living will fall.  During his business career he outsourced American jobs to foreign countries, bought companies that were not prospering well only to wind up forcing them into bankruptcy, while he made millions.  He even mentioned that he likes to "fire people".  He brags about his wealth and has said many times that he's not ashamed of  being successful.  Nor should he be, if his wealth was earned in an honest and respectful way.  Mitt Romney is so full of himself and so arrogant that he actually believes all the crap he puts out.

I'm sure he doesn't like to admit it, but there really is someone wealthier than he is.  Billionaire Warren Buffet  told ABC News "If anything, taxes for the lower and middle class and maybe even the upper middle class should even probably be cut further.   The rich say give us more money, and we'll go out and spend more, and then it will all trickle down to the rest of you. But that has not worked the last 10 years, and I hope the American public is catching on.  But I think that people at the high end,  people like myself, should be paying a lot more in taxes. We have it better than we've ever had it."

In my opinion, the real problem is that Mitt Romney doesn't have the slightest idea what it's like to live on a budget, trying to stretch that dollar as far as it will go, will they be able to pay their mortgage.  He's never been middle class and I bet if you ask him he probably has no idea how the American people, that don't have the wealth he has, manage to put food on the table, send their children to school and live in a safe neighborhood.  That silver spoon is jammed so far in his mouth that he can't even think about those who are less fortunate than he has always been.

The middle class Americans don't send their children to private schools Mitt - they're not raised in houses with servants that cook and clean for them, and a lot of them are in day care centers while both their parents are working.  A great majority of them are dependent on Planned Parenthood, because they can't afford to pay a doctor for the routine check-ups that are necessary to keep them healthy.  They work hard for years so that they can some day retire and take advantage of Medicare and Social Security.

Gov. Romney if you would just climb down off that high horse of yours and walk in the shoes of the middle class maybe, just maybe, you could understand the life that you have never lived.

ROMNEY ECONOMICS - OR NOT

ACTUALLY......when Mitt Romney was governor of Massachusetts his economic plan didn't turn out to be so great - I'm not sure what he's so proud of.  Would it be to "cut back" on firefighters, policemen and teachers?  He commented in December 2011, that the idea of the government keeping it's firefighters, police officers and school teachers in tact was not an effective way to grow the economy. So, he cut local aid and forced communities to lay off 14,500 local police officers, teachers and government workers.  Just to be sure there were no other applicants for the police department, he increased police training fees by $200.00.  The crime reports were steady, but arrest rates dropped, along with officer employment, because of Romney's cuts. He said to a retired firefighter "you knew what you were getting into, but I'm not going to promise you more money".  He tried, unsuccessfully to veto $2.5 million for fire safety equipment and $1 million for fire education.  He refused to rebuild a fire station as a living memorial to 6 local firefighters - for that he was deeply criticized  by the community. He tried to strip union membership from thousands of government employees - that little move would have left the firefighters union without 1/3 of their memberships. O.K. This is a good one - he said he wasn't giving out "free stuff" when a firefighter asked about his state pension and Social Security benefits. In September, 2011, "he was not pleased with what he read about a plan to save 240,000 teachers".  He enforced budget cuts that left some schools with no other option than to fire teachers.

The following are "fact checked" quotes from The Truth Team I'd like to share with you:

"Gov. Romney raised taxes and fees on the middle class while cutting taxes for millionaires like himself and 278 of the wealthiest individuals in Massachusetts."

"Under Mitt Romney, Massachusetts debt burden grew to the highest per person in the nation."

"State spending increased every year while Romney was in office, and he left behind a $1 billion deficit for the next governor."

"Mitt Romney promised to bring his experience from the corporate boardroom to Massachusetts, the same promise he's making now as a presidential candidate.  But Romney economics isn't about creating jobs or helping the middle class.  By the time Romney left office, state debt had increased, the size of government had grown, and Massachusetts had fallen behind almost every other state in job creation."

WHAT WAS HE THINKING??
