GAFFES DOMINATE

ACTUALLY......In jolly old England, Romney quickly embarrassed America.  First of all he questioned whether the Brits would be as prepared for the London Olympics as he was for the Salt Lake City games when he ran them in 2002.  British Prime Minister David Cameron, took that statement as an insult and said "holding an Olympics in “the middle of nowhere” was obviously easier than holding one in one of the most densely populated cities in the world".   The British papers labeled Romney “Nowhere Man,” and the U.S. press declared him “DOA” in the U.K.   Romney has criticized Obama's foreign policy as being too critical of allies and too friendly to enemies.  Well, Romney began his World Audit by slapping one of America’s closest allies in the face.  Romney held a meeting with Labour leader Ed Miliband and other senior figures.  As we might expect, when addressing Mr. Miliband he forgot his name and called him "Mr. Leader".  Probably the biggest no-no Romney did was to say he met the head of Britain's foreign intelligence agency MI6 - an unusual disclosure - when asked about his discussions on Syria.  Does he not ever put his brain in gear before he speaks?

While in Jerusalem,  Mitt Romney said  that their culture is part of what has allowed them to be more economically successful than the Palestinians.  A senior aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had this to say about Romney's deduction:  "It is a racist statement and this man doesn't realize that the Palestinian economy cannot reach its potential because there is an Israeli occupation." He also quickly added, "It seems to me this man lacks information, knowledge, vision and understanding of this region and its people.  He also lacks knowledge about the Israelis themselves. I have not heard any Israeli official speak about cultural superiority."

Sticking with his culture theory, Romney said some economic histories have theorized that "culture makes all the difference."  When he speaks to audiences in America, he says that culture is the key to economic success and talks about the power of the American entrepreneurial spirit compared to the values of other countries.  I personally believe that he is bragging about his own life and how his somewhat dubious business experience has made him a wealthy man - at the expense of others.

On the third leg of his highly gaffe-filled world audition, Romney was invited to Poland by ex-president and Solidarity trade union leader Lech Walesa. The current Solidarity leadership issued a statement saying it wanted nothing to do with Romney, making plain its support for Obama in the presidential contest. Solidarity issued a statement that "Regretfully, we were informed by our friends from the American headquarters of AFL-CIO, that Mitt Romney supported attacks on trade unions and employees' rights."

It's my opinion that Mitt Romney filled his coffers a little more because as one expects, he managed a few fund raisers.   I can't help but wonder if with all his money and PACS supporting him ....... will the money get him elected President?   He continues to prove that he is not presidential material, and certainly has no foreign policy experience or awareness.

As the democratic Senate majority leader Harry Reid said, "It's not good for us as a country - it's not good for him to go over and insult everybody"
